International Speech Winners

Mt Sheridan’s Kaj Haffenden competed in 3 of the 4 contests held at the Northern Division Conference in Alice Springs this weekend.

Kaj was awarded third place in the Table Topics contest about “Feast or Famine”. Kaj’s effort was terrific, however he was beaten by time and was unable to deliver what would have been a penultimate conclusion.

His Peruvian-themed speech “Who’s Lucky?” was placed second in the International Speech competition. The field of contestants was particularly strong this year with many excellent and diverse speeches.

Graeme, Leigh-Ann, Kaj and David

Kaj’s Evaluation of the speech “Jackpot” by Jason Clark was outstanding, gaining him an undisputed first place.  This means that Kaj will be the Northern Division representative for the Evaluation Contest at the District Conference at Caloundra in May.   With Kaj’s eye for detail, powerful language and concise explanations, we can feel confident he will do himself and our Club proud.

Go Kaj!
