On Sunday 26th March six representatives from Mount Sheridan Toastmasters attended the bi-annual Area 32 & 9 Leadership Training programme.  Carol Hautot from Kickstart Toastmasters organised a great day for all participants in her role as TLI Officer. 

Mt Sheridan’s Nicky Jurd, as Area 9 Governor, provided eloquent information on the new Toastmasters branding formats, but the show was stolen by Kaj Haffenden (Area 32 Governor and Past President at Mt Sheridan) with his sensational educational speech “Using Humour In Your Speech”.  Illuminating issues such as pregnant pauses, puchline deliveries, the use of exaggeration, self effacement, understatement, anecdotes and verbal irony, Kaj had the audience in stitches – even from our own efforts at humorous writing.  Congratulations Kaj on a sensational session.
