Entering a speech contest is a great way to get your adrenalin pumping! On Thursday 15th August we held our contests for Evaluating a Speech and Impromptu Speaking, in preparation for the Area 32 Conference to be held at Malanda during the weekend of 12th – 13th October.
Kaj Haffenden was Head Judge; Nicky Jurd was the Evaluations Contest Chairman; Michael McGarry was the Table Topics Contest Chairman and visiting Toastmaster Brenda Campbell from the Kickstart Club gave an evocative Test Speech for our Evaluation Contestants.
Cheryl McLeod and Brenton Walker were first and second respectively in our Club Evaluations Contest; Cheryl McLeod took first place and Adrian Garrone second in our Club’s Table Topics Contest. These contestants will go on to represent our Club at Malanda in October.
